Your main mission?

As Finance and Accounting Director and strategic leader, your primary mission will be to oversee finance and accounting operations, ensure regulatory compliance and team development. You will also be responsible for ensuring the financial health of the organisation, compliance with local and international regulations and alignment with business objectives.

In this position, your main responsibility will be to:

🎯 Financial Operations

Managing accounting, treasury, reporting, cash management and comptroller’s functions in general.

🎯Compliance and Governance
Establishing robust frameworks to ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., US GAAP, SYSCOHADA, OHADA, FCPA, and EG regulations).

🎯Strategic Leadership:

Driving financial strategies to maximize shareholder value

🎯Team Development

Strengthening the Finance and Accounting team through mentoring and capacity building.

On a day-to-day basis, you will essentially be responsible for:

✔️Cash management (ensuring the cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal-control activities of the organization)..

✔️Ensuring accuracy in financial reporting for efficient interface with auditing and Shareholder requirements.
✔️Developing and implementing best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team
communications, and timely financial reporting.
✔️Driving the company’s financial strategy, ensuring the company’s strategies are compliant with relevant accounting requirements (US GAAP, SYSCOHADA) regional and local statutory requirements (OHADA, BEAC, Equatorial laws/regulations) and
the various contracts governing the company’s operations (the Processing and Marketing Agreement, the Shareholders Agreement, the articles of association and various liquification service or purchase/sales agreements)

✔️Staying informed on regional and national financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.

🔎Educational background:

A degree in finance and/or accounting from an accredited institution. A master's or bachelor's degree would be an advantage. 

🔎Experience:

Previous finance and administrative experience (20 plus years) with diversity in functional, technical, corporate, and leadership roles - preferably with exposure to international oil and gas operations.

An internationally recognized accounting certification such as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) is preferred..

🔎Skills and Competences

• Full understanding of the basis and implementation of internal financial controls, including compliance with the Company and Shareholder’s ethical standards, the provisions of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of the United States, the SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) 404 requirements of the United States and the corruption laws of the CEMAC Region and country of Equatorial Guinea.
• A working knowledge of US GAAP and SYSCOHADA.
• A working knowledge of the Banking regulations in the CEMAC region which have an impact on the company’s payments.
• Effective communication of information and ideas through a variety of
media.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Negotiation and leadership skills.
• Focus on results and meeting business objectives.
• Ability to analyse and make decisions based on data.
